Keep the fire burning

Yesterday night, I was speaking to a friend of mine, and we were both reminiscing about our university days and our walk with God.

We talked about the funny things we did out of hunger and quest for the knowledge of God, our various encounters with God, the tangible testimonies we got, and our childishness and growth in the things of God.

And as we got to the end of the conversation, we started talking about our present reality and the state of our walk with God now. And it led us to the question:

Is the fire still burning as it used to?

Is the hunger still as it used to be?

Are we still having encounters with God?

These questions are left unanswered.

But then, look within.

Was there ever a time you were on fire for God and the zeal of the things of God consumed you?

Is it still the same now?

Is the fire and zeal still within you?

Are you still studying your Bible as you used to?

Are you still praying as you used to?

Are you still fasting like you used to?

Are you still as committed to the things of God as you were?

As you are growing physically, are you also growing spiritually (or should I mind my business)?

God wants a relationship with us.

He wants to speak to us

He wants to reveal the mysteries of the kingdom to us

And it is our duty as believers to keep the fire in our relationship burning.

It is our duty to seek His face consistently

It is our duty to seek fellowship and communion with the Father

Are you doing your part to keep the fire burning?

Even if your fire seems cold, are you open to asking for the help of the Holy Spirit?

Or do you think you don’t need His help?

Seek His help today

He wants to help you.

He wants the fire on your altar to keep burning.

The fire on your altar is getting cold.

Don’t let the fire go out.

Leviticus 6:12 The fire on the altar must be kept burning; it must not go out. Every morning, the priest is to add firewood, arrange the burnt offering on the fire, and burn the fat of the fellowship offerings on it.

Read it like an instruction to yourself: The fire on my altar must be kept burning; it must not go out. Every morning, I am to add firewood (prayers, study, meditation), arrange the burnt offering, and burn the fat of the fellowship offerings on my altar.

KEEP THE FIRE BURNING πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯.
