Hi Hi,
How are you doing? How’s life treating you? I really pray we get the best out of it at the end of the day and things work out well for everyone 🙏🙏
Thank you to everyone who gave feedback about my ‘get to know me’ blog and a special shoutout to the person who gave 50 claps at once 😆😆😆. I really appreciate the love 😊😊
Today’s topic is something that might be a bit sensitive, especially because I know that people have different ideologies about it and may not agree with some of the things I’d be writing here and I also might not have scriptures to back every single thing I’m saying up. The subject matter is “Purpose”.
Like almost everyone I have come in contact with, we grew up with the mindset that you can play around with your life at some specific stages in life, but then there comes a time when you have to be serious and start seeking out what God’s purpose for your life is. You know, pray, fast, read books, read scriptures, and wait to hear God's voice saying, “My son, my daughter, this is the reason why I brought you to the earth, and these are the things that I’d have you do.”
And then, when you felt like you had gotten to that stage, it seemed like it didn’t happen for some of us. No matter how much we prayed, we didn’t get a clear picture of our purpose, and we got frustrated, wondering if God didn’t create us with a purpose or maybe we couldn’t hear God clearly. Well, if you fall into this category, I’m sending you a lot of hugs 🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂. This was me, and I questioned things a lot, but now I know better. And here are a few things I’ve realized over the years:
- Every believer has a purpose. Matt 16:15 “He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” 2 Corinthians 5: 18 “All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.”This is the first purpose and assignment of every believer.
- Some people will definitely get clarity on their purpose early in life, and some will not, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have one.
- Having clarity on purpose doesn’t necessarily mean you hear God’s audible voice. It might come in different forms, like through the scriptures, seeing pointers and patterns of stuff in your life and around you. Psalm 119:105 “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”
- For some people, knowing and walking in your purpose comes from the place of obedience. Obedience to God’s instructions, leading, and guidance. John 14:18–21
- Your purpose doesn’t necessarily have to be in the five-fold ministry. Even in your place of work/career, you have a purpose. Your purpose can be tied to your family and generation. You might be the one God uses to break evil cycles and patterns in your lineage. It doesn’t have to be just a ministerial assignment. Purpose is limitless.
- Taking up responsibilities, serving in God’s presence, and doing assignments given to you by God can help you understand your life’s purpose better and gain clarity faster (I don’t know what better way to explain it but I know some people can relate).
- Purpose can only be found in God. As a manufacturer is the only one who knows the in-and-out of a product and what it can do, so also God is your maker and He knows the purpose for which He brought you to this life. Building and growing a relationship with Him is where you’ll find your purpose.
- You may already be living out your purpose and not know it. Especially because you had a picture of what you thought living out purpose should look like and the life you’re living doesn’t look like that.
- God’s purpose can interrupt your plans because your plans are not His, neither are your ways His.
- Lives and destinies are connected to your purpose. They are waiting on you to walk in your purpose so that they can walk in theirs and live the lives that God has ordained for them.
- Purpose is not a destination. It’s not something you discover and it ends there. It’s a journey you’re on. Every day, you keep getting a better understanding of it and you need to keep moving.
And now you ask me, how then do I find my purpose?
Seek to build a relationship with God. Stay obedient to Him. Be patient with yourself. Remember, purpose is a journey, not a destination, so you might still find it as you grow older and older in your walk with God and on earth.
In case you still feel like you don’t have a purpose, have this in mind: Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
I pray you get more clarity on purpose and live a purposeful life here on earth in Jesus’ name.
Don’t forget to share with someone you know this will bless. See you soon 🤗🤗.
