Are you 100% Christian?

A few weeks ago, I had conversations with two of my friends that prompted this blog.

One of the conversations was with a friend of mine who asked me to help her look for a facilitator to teach teenagers about content creation, and she said, ‘Tosin, I want someone Godly ooo’ and I asked if she thinks I don’t have godly friends, and she went on to explain that when it comes to the world of content creation, looking for a godly person is dicey as a lot of people claim to be Christians but don’t still want to create contents like the people in the world.

The second was about relationships and how a guy still makes jest of a lady after 3 years because she told him she needed to pray about his proposal before giving him a response. And then the question was, if he claims to be a Christian, doesn’t he consult God before making major decisions in his life?

Philippians 2:5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus.

The scripture says, ‘In your relationships with one another’, our relationship with one another flows to words, actions, thoughts, and so on. Parts of our decision-making affect our relationships with others, so why don’t we consider Christ’s mindset when making decisions? Why don’t we consider Christ’s mindset in our thoughts, actions, and words coming from our minds?

Interestingly, I started typing this blog last week, but then I just couldn’t complete it. I guess it was because of this sermon.

Then, just a little more confirmation that you needed to read this, I was at PowerPoint Tribe, my friend’s church, on Monday for a stage play, and her pastor, Pastor Dami Oguntunde, during his sermon, talked about two different people. According to him, there are two different people: Bold darkness and shy light. He went on to explain that darkness is becoming very bold in the world now, while the ones who are to shine as light are shy and afraid to shine. And I just couldn’t help but think about how a lot of us claim to be Christians; we even call ourselves light, salt, and all the other names that God has called us, but do we really act and live like the names we claim to be?

Matthew 5:14–16 You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Philippians 2:15 Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people.

So, I ask you, are you a bold darkness?

A shy light?

Or a shining and blazing light?

Are you 100% christian?

Or do you have moments when you drop your Christianity?

When making decisions, do you consult God or you use your head and mind?

Think about it.

If you are a shy light, there is room to change to be a shining and blazing light.

If you are a bold darkness, it’s not too late to switch to being a shining and blazing light.

Ask the Holy Ghost to help and guide you back to Christ, who is the light of the world, so that you can become a shining and blazing light.

See you soon 🤗
