A Godly, trusted Buddy 😍
Hey dear,
Happy New Month 💃💃💃.
Welcome to your month of increase and prosperity 🥳🥳🥳.
How was April for you, and how has 2023 been for you so far?
I hope you’re still staying on track with your goals for the year and keeping your hope alive for all that you are trusting God for this year.
Please stay hopeful and cling to God more, for only in Him can we have all things, do all things, and be who we desire to be.
I pray that May will be a beautiful month with pleasant experiences and great testimonies for you in Jesus’ name.
Today, we are talking about something that a lot of us young believers are beginning to neglect.
You know, out of wanting to feel and be accepted by some of our “friends” or "society,” we are normalizing this.
And what is this thing about which I’m talking?
Having a godly and trusted buddy
Yes.
God never intends for us as believers, whether young, old, male, or female, to do life alone.
He made us be there for one another.
He made friendships so you could have godly and trusted friends.
Ecclesiastes 4:9–10 Two are better than one because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him that is alone when he falls, for he hath not another to help him up.
Your friend is supposed to be a shoulder to lean on. Someone to lift you up when you are falling
He brings us into communities and places to be with people with whom we can do life.
Prov 18:24 One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
Your friends are expected to be reliable and trustworthy people. One you can share your life details with without worrying that the whole community will hear about it.
He brings people into our lives to love, encourage, support, and uplift us through all the twists and turns of life.
Prov 27:17 As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.
Your friend is supposed to help you become better.
Don’t do life alone.
Get a Godly, trusted buddy in your corner.
Choose your friends carefully.
Choose your buddy with the help of the Holy Spirit.
Proverbs 13:20 says, “Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.”
Whoever you choose to make your buddy or friend has a major impact on who you eventually become.
Are you seeking to be wise? Make friends with wise people.
Are you seeking to do better at your studies? Make friends with those who are diligent in their studies and doing better.
Are you seeking to advance in any area of life? Make friends with the people who are already ahead and doing better in that area.
1 Peter 4:8–10 “Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace.”
Most importantly, let love and care for one another rule your friendship.
Be hospitable
But most of all, be the kind of friend you are looking out for
Luke 6:31, “And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them.”
Don’t look out for a kind friend and be unkind to others.
Remember, likes attracts likes. Be a better person.
Be a Godly and trusted buddy to attract one.
I pray God aill help us to have Godly and trusted buddies in our corners to do life with and He will help us to be a Godly and trusted buddy to those around us in Jesus’ name.
Bonus: The young people of my church started a Youtube series. This series intends to highlight challenges that young people go through, how some people have been able to overcome it and also bring in the perception of how the scripture has asked us to deal with such challenges. The first two episodes aired on Saturday and I’d really like you to watch it, not just because it’s from my church but because the experiences shared in the videos are ones I think a lot of us can relate to and I’m sure we’ll learn a thing or two from it. To watch, you can click below 🖗
I really hope you’ll watch it.
Have a beautiful month. I will see you soon 🤗🤗.
